A truly unique digital education tool
NORIA Education has been developed and evaluated in close collaboration with pedagogical expertise at Lund University/Lund Institute of Technology, Chalmers University of Technology, and Uppsala University. By combining pedagogical expertise with digital technology and extensive experience in game development, we have developed a truly unique serious game for education.
In a lifelike, risk-free and interactive environment with challenging and realistic scenarios, students can practice and develop their ability to make decisions and take actions from a holistic perspective – thereby increasing their understanding of both the complexity and the real consequences of different decisions and actions. Unlimited access to the training tool allows each student to adapt the training to their personal situation and needs.
Used, tested and evaluated
Up until today, the tool has been used in various courses and has been evaluated by close to 300 students and their teachers. The response and feedback has been overwhelmingly positive from both students and teachers.
In a 2024 course evaluation at Lund Institute of Technology, more than 82% of participating students strongly agreed with the statement: “The Game gave me a good understanding of the complexity of stormwater systems.”
According to one of the teachers, a key benefit of the game exercises is their focus on the urban perspective, which helps students grasp the bigger picture – something that is often missing in traditional, detail-oriented training.
